You can create anything you want in your life. You are, indeed, large and in charge, even by default.
You may not believe it when you take an inventory of your life to find you are living paycheck to paycheck, feeling really broke-ass and broken up, still wishing for the right relationship to come along, the right business opportunity to pan out, etc. etc. etc.
Whatever your deal is, I have news for you:
It won’t matter how many self-help books you read, how many seminars you attend where everyone high-fives the person sitting next to them, how many websites you’ve followed that promise you a path to success. None of that will work unless you do this one single thing:
You have to scare the crap out of yourself on a daily basis.
You don’t get to live large and in charge by doing what you’ve already been doing. You grow by “burning your ships.” You grow by getting outside your comfort zone.
Change comes from being uncomfortable.
I bet that if you are sitting in a comfortable chair right now, you’ll sit in it as long as it remains comfortable. The moment it starts to get uncomfortable, you’ll change your position or leave the chair completely.
You have to get up out of that comfy chair, no matter how comfy it is for you right now.
So what is the payoff?
1. Once you get out of your comfort zone, you’ll break the imaginary shackles that have held you back. The fact is, successful people know that security is an illusion.
2. Spending time outside your comfort zone makes you feel alive more than ever before.
3. The sense of accomplishment that you will experience will boost your confidence and allow you to draw on ALL the power you have to succeed.
Fair warning: Spending time outside your comfort zone is addictive. The more you do it, the more you will want to do it again, and again, and again.
