The Walter Reed Book

This novel is based on a true story.

When a career-driven US Army Sniper survived a gunshot wound to the head during a gunfight in Iraq, an unlikely ally, his ex wife, joined his side for the biggest battle of their life.  Learning there was a new battlefield once the troops came home, they were abandoned and ignored under the the care of the crown jewel of military hospitals.  Held hostage along with hundreds of others in a quagmire of bureaucratic red tape, these two ordinary people uncovered and exposed the pattern of neglect and indifference up to the highest levels of government.

The story is told from an emotionally-driven first-person standpoint, yet riddled with humor, inspiration, drama and insight.  This is a story about good versus evil, triumph over tragedy, crisis and healing, great battles and noble sacrifices, fate and destiny, suffering and redemption, love and friendship, man versus society, and how morality wins over injustice.

Recounting their story and their personal meaning of family, marriage, crisis, and healing, this book will deliver an inspirational testament of strength, courage, loyalty, duty, personal growth, determination, integrity and compassion for those fighting their own battles.
