Yeah. It wasn’t planned…

Due to an unfortunate incident involving:

  • An out-of-state bank debit card,
  • Skype video messaging, and
  • A rather annoying and maddening hacker in China,

…we have no access to our bank account funds until a new bank card arrives.  From what we are told, it will be in the next 7-10 business days before it comes in the mail.  Our bank is not local and there is no such thing as Fed Ex “overnight” around here.  Imagine living in a place so remote that Fed Ex won’t deliver overnight packages?  Yes, that would be us!

Now imagine how far (and costly) a trip to town with spare change to buy cigs would be.

I’ll take the hint and just quit.  No better time than the present, right?

Here’s another counter I am using, which is off just slightly in the numbers but more exact in the end. This one shows how much life I gave back to myself.   Very eye opening, isn’t it?

For all those days I wished I could “add more hours in my day,” it looks like I finally got my wish. Funny how that all plays out…

So have you ever tried to quit smoking?  How did you do?  What were your techniques to overcome the cravings?  I’d love to hear your stories about how you did (or didn’t) quit smoking  …thanks!
